Abstract: | The main objective of this study is to analyze the socioeconomic impact of forced displacement on migrant families who settled in the La Aurora neighborhood, located in the Manta canton, during the period 2024-2025. This qualitative research uses techniques such as semi-structured interviews and life history to obtain direct information based on the experiences of those who have experienced this phenomenon. The sample is composed of Venezuelan families who, faced with political, economic, or social crises in their country of origin, were forced to migrate and seek new opportunities in this area. The study explores the reasons that led to displacement, the conditions of the migratory journey, and the challenges faced upon reaching their destination. It also delves into how these families have coped with their adaptation, paying special attention to access to employment, adequate housing, and basic services, as well as the emotional impact and transformation in family dynamics. Through the collected testimonies, the study aims to highlight the main needs and vulnerabilities of these families, as well as the resilience mechanisms they have developed to overcome adversity. Finally, this research seeks to provide valuable input for the formulation of inclusive public policies and social intervention strategies that promote the integration, protection, and well-being of this vulnerable population. |
