Abstract

This work analyzes linkage as a crucial activity for universities, because it facilitates the interaction between the university community and different sectors of society, given that, integrated into an organizational structure, it offers learning and development opportunities for both teachers, students and community. Therefore, this study was carried out with the objective of investigating the level of impact of the social links that have been carried out by the Eloy Alfaro de Manabí Lay University on the local development of the city of Manta during the year 2023. The research developed It was descriptive and explanatory in nature, for which the quantitative methodology was applied with a non-experimental design, applying the survey as an information collection technique to 300 inhabitants of the Urbirrios neighborhood. Resulting in the linkage having generated a positive impact on local development despite the lack of participation from the sector. However, there are favorable results to the contribution of the link in social change and contribution to cultural and heritage development. Therefore, it is crucial that Uleam becomes more involved with social problems in order to execute linkage projects in each neighborhood of the city of Manta.
