Abstract

Information management and data analysis are essential components in the modern business and academic world. With the constantly growing volume of data, the use of specialized tools that allow not only the storage and organization of information, but also its efficient and effective analysis, becomes indispensable. The specific objective of this research is to identify the information management tool for data analysis at the Unidad Educativa Fiscal 4 de Noviembre in the city of Manta to improve the information-based decision-making process. The methodology is based on a descriptive, quantitative, exploratory, and correlational approach. It is aimed at a population of 93 people in the academic field. The findings reveal a positive trend regarding the use of data analysis tools, which are perceived as an improvement in the decision-making process. These tools are recognized as highly effective, demonstrating a strong acceptance and appreciation of their benefits in institutional management processes. It is concluded that there is a clear need to incorporate technological tools that allow for agile and accurate data analysis, although some teachers and administrators resort to using Excel, which demonstrates a limited knowledge of more advanced platforms, limiting the ability to generate real-time strategic reports that contribute to effective, evidence-based decision-making.
