Resumen : | The feasibility of implementing a micro-sprinkler irrigation system in a thermal chamber with export plantain crops (Musa AAB) in the nursery phase was determined at the Río Suma experimental farm of the “Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí” El Carmen extension, located in the province of Manabí, Ecuador. Using the Student's T program, two treatments were evaluated: treatment 1 (15 minutes of irrigation every 4 days) with the following variables: number of leaves, number of roots, pseudostem perimeter, and soil moisture for the first 15 days; treatment 2 (20 minutes of irrigation every 4 days) with the following variables: number of leaves, number of roots, pseudostem perimeter, and soil moisture for the last 15 days. After irrigation application was assessed both at 15 minutes and at 20 minutes the variable number of leaves where it was observed that there were no significant differences between treatments within which an average of leaves was obtained in R1 (T1 15 minutes) 4.35 and in R2 (T2 20 minutes) 4.14, in the variable number of roots an average was detected in R1 (T1 15 minutes) 25.20 and in R2 (T2 20 minutes) 30.35 which reflected that there are no significant differences between treatments, in the variable perimeter of the pseudostem no significant differences were observed between treatments being the average R1 (T1 15 minutes) 9.03 cm and the average in R2 (T2 20 minutes) 9.44 cm, as for the amount of water retained it was observed that in R1 (T1 15 minutes) it retained 452.90 cm3 of water, and in R2 (T2 20 minutes), it retained 465.20 cm3 of water. The economic analysis determined that the investment cost for T1 was $278.66, and the investment cost for T2 was $279.86. |
