Abstract: The objective of this research was to evaluate, through a market study, the feasibility of commercializing broiler chickens with nutritional supplementation of beet meal. A descriptive study was carried out in the urban area of El Carmen canton, Manabí. In a population of people between 25 and 60 years old, the survey was applied as a technique for market research and observation from a sensory evaluation sheet to determine the attributes of broiler chicken meat. 80.0% of the residents of El Carmen who were surveyed recognize that they and their family consume chicken and 91.7% of these are willing to consume broiler chicken with a food supplement of beet flour. 83.3% of the surveyed residents say they are willing to pay the value of $1.30 USD per pound of chicken and 50% agree that they would be willing to consume four to five pounds of broiler chicken weekly with supplementation beet flour food. A marked tendency towards acceptance was manifested when the chickens received a feed supplementation of 15.0% beet meal.
Description: La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar mediante un estudio de mercado la factibilidad de comercialización de pollos Broilers con suplementación alimenticia de harina de remolacha. Se realizó un estudio descriptivo en la zona urbana del cantón El Carmen, Manabí. En una población de personas comprendidas entre 25 y 60 años se aplicó como técnica la encuesta para el estudio de mercado y la observación a partir de una ficha de evaluación sensorial para determinar los atributos de la carne de pollos broilers.
