Estudio de factibilidad para la comercialización de pollos broilers con la suplementación alimenticia de harina de remolacha (Beta vulgaris).

Abstract

The objective of this research was to evaluate, through a market study, the feasibility of commercializing broiler chickens with nutritional supplementation of beet meal. A descriptive study was carried out in the urban area of El Carmen canton, Manabí. In a population of people between 25 and 60 years old, the survey was applied as a technique for market research and observation from a sensory evaluation sheet to determine the attributes of broiler chicken meat. 80.0% of the residents of El Carmen who were surveyed recognize that they and their family consume chicken and 91.7% of these are willing to consume broiler chicken with a food supplement of beet flour. 83.3% of the surveyed residents say they are willing to pay the value of $1.30 USD per pound of chicken and 50% agree that they would be willing to consume four to five pounds of broiler chicken weekly with supplementation beet flour food. A marked tendency towards acceptance was manifested when the chickens received a feed supplementation of 15.0% beet meal.
