Abstract: | The research was carried out in the parish of Puerto Limón, province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, with the purpose of evaluating the agronomic performance of Zucchini (Curcubita pepo) with different types of substrate; for which three treatments plus a control implemented in Complete Randomized Design (CRD) were established, with 10 plants per treatment, giving a total of 40 experimental units evaluated. The variables evaluated were plant height (cm), days to flowering, number of fruits, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit weight (g), yield (t ha-1) and economic analysis of the crop. A positive effect of the application of three different substrates on agronomic characteristics was established, the best being T3 (10% earthworm humus) for stem length (22,57 cm), number of fruits (4,93), fruit length (21,46 cm) and fruit weight (348,72 grams). It was determined that there was an increase in the yield (t ha-1) of the Zucchini crop due to the effect of the application of different substrates, with T2 (Biocompost 10%) and T3 (Worm castings 10%) being the best treatments with 12,10 and 14,36 tons per hectare, respectively. The financial analysis of the evaluated treatments reported T2 (Biocompost) as the most economically profitable, since it had a higher marginal rate of return of 41,73 %. |
Description: | La investigación se llevó a cabo en la parroquia Puerto Limón, provincia Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, con el propósito de evaluar el comportamiento agronómico del Zucchini (Curcubita pepo) con diferentes tipos de sustrato; para lo cual se estableció tres tratamientos más un testigo implementado en Diseño Completo al Azar (DCA), se contó con por 10 plantas por tratamiento, dando un total de 40 unidades experimentales evaluadas. Las variables evaluadas fueron altura de planta (cm), días a la floración, número de frutos, longitud de fruto (cm), diámetro de fruto (cm), peso del fruto (g), rendimiento (t ha -1) y análisis económico del cultivo. |
