Comportamiento agronómico del Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo) con diferentes tipos de sustratos.

Abstract

The research was carried out in the parish of Puerto Limón, province of Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas, with the purpose of evaluating the agronomic performance of Zucchini (Curcubita pepo) with different types of substrate; for which three treatments plus a control implemented in Complete Randomized Design (CRD) were established, with 10 plants per treatment, giving a total of 40 experimental units evaluated. The variables evaluated were plant height (cm), days to flowering, number of fruits, fruit length (cm), fruit diameter (cm), fruit weight (g), yield (t ha-1) and economic analysis of the crop. A positive effect of the application of three different substrates on agronomic characteristics was established, the best being T3 (10% earthworm humus) for stem length (22,57 cm), number of fruits (4,93), fruit length (21,46 cm) and fruit weight (348,72 grams). It was determined that there was an increase in the yield (t ha-1) of the Zucchini crop due to the effect of the application of different substrates, with T2 (Biocompost 10%) and T3 (Worm castings 10%) being the best treatments with 12,10 and 14,36 tons per hectare, respectively. The financial analysis of the evaluated treatments reported T2 (Biocompost) as the most economically profitable, since it had a higher marginal rate of return of 41,73 %.
