Abstract: The investigation analyzes the non-tariff controls required to export banana snacks to Miami, essential to guarantee quality, safety and sustainability. It highlights international regulations, such as those of the FDA, and key requirements: quality certificates, traceability, labeling and sanitary and phytosanitary measures, which prevent pests, non-compliant products and lack of transparency. Highlights the relevance of international certifications such as ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000, essential to access the competitive processed food market. Likewise, it addresses challenges for Ecuadorian exporters, such as regulatory complexity, sanctions, delays and reputational damage from non-compliance. It proposes strategies such as technologies for quality control, traceability systems and training in international regulations, promoting sustainable trade and improving the competitiveness of exporters. With a qualitative approach, the research promotes sustainable economic development.
