Abstract: | This research addresses access to information and transparency in the management of cultural heritage at the Museo Centro Cultural Manta, in the year 2024; in a context where the citizen’s right to information is fundamental to strengthening democracy and participation, institutional shortcomings are identified that affect communication between the museum and the community; during the development of this research, it became evident that the museum does not have clear internal policies, well-defined protocols, and the necessary staff training to ensure that information is handled in a transparent and accessible manner. Given this reality, the main purpose was to analyze these limitations and, based on this, propose strategies that strengthen the museum’s information management; for this purpose, a qualitative approach was chosen with an action research design that included semi-structured interviews, direct observation, and documentary analysis. The findings confirmed a weak organizational culture in terms of transparency, scarce citizen participation mechanisms, and a dependence on limited information channels; in response to this diagnosis, the development of an institutional guideline is proposed, aimed at establishing clear policies that promote access to information and transparency in the museum. |
