| dc.description.abstract | In the context of teaching English to elementary school students, the natural method promotes the use of practical, authentic activities that foster oral fluency by prioritizing comprehension and expression over strict grammatical correctness. Objective: To analyze the impact of the Natural Method on the development of oral fluency in elementary school students. A quantitative and quasi-experimental methodology was used, using a pre-test and post-test design with a sample of 66 students distributed in an experimental group (Group A) and a control group (Group B). Over ten sessions, the dimensions of complexity, accuracy, and fluency were measured. The results obtained in the post-test showed a significant improvement in Group A. In complexity, 51% of the students reached a high level in the structuring of clear ideas, far surpassing the 24% of Group B. In accuracy, 67% of the experimental group achieved high grammatical performance compared to 22% of the control. Likewise, in fluidity, 51% of Group A stood out in the use of connectors, compared to 42% of Group B. It is concluded that the Natural Approach favors discursive organization and lexical cohesion by transforming the student into an active agent. | es |
