El propósito de este estudio se basó en analizar los factores que inciden en la conformación de las “pandillas juveniles” y conocer la problemática a través de la perspectiva de los actores sociales que están inmersos ante este fenómeno social. rendimiento académico de los estudiantes es bajo, ocasionando que en muchos casos repitan el año, descuidando sus estudios por realizar actividades de la pandilla, además, la falta de apoyo familiar no garantiza un desarrollo integral y aprendizaje sano. dc.description.abstractThe topic of this research project was called the presence of gangs and their influence on academic performance in the "Paquisha" Fiscal Educational Unit of the Manta canton, period 2022-2023. The purpose of this study was based on analyzing the factors that influence the formation of "youth gangs" and to understand the problem through the perspective of the social actors who are immersed in this social phenomenon. The problem is based on the fact that the academic performance of the students is low, causing that in many cases they repeat the year, neglecting their studies to carry out gang activities, in addition, the lack of family support does not guarantee an integral development and healthy learning. The methodology used was qualitative in approach, applying the technique of life history, interviews and focus group to the key informants mentioned in this project, the analysis of the information was carried out through the analytical method. The results obtained allowed corroborating the purposes of the research because it was identified that the main causes that lead students to join gangs are due to the lack of attention they receive from their parents, and the repercussions that have been generated are psychological due to the episodes of anxiety and depression they are experiencing because they consider themselves insufficient and nonexistent. The data collected have been used only for the development of this research under the authorization of the interviewees, without the alteration of any information provided.es
