Abstract

The case analysis entitled "Neuromuscular Bandage as an alternative treatment for drooling control", is carried out in Si Housing, from which a patient with microcephaly who does not control drooling was chosen, for which the neuromuscular bandage was applied in the zone of the mylohyoid and orbicular muscles of the lips, whose objective is to control drooling by using the bandage, then the sensory stimulation for swallowing was implemented to complement the treatment. The bandage helps the body to activate its own "reorganization" process without altering mobility and at the same time facilitates circulation and reduces pain. The bandage gives the information and the body is the one who interprets and acts it. At the time of this case, the mother was interviewed to obtain the necessary information, it was evaluated through the scales of severity and frequency of drooling that allowed us to assess how drooling was, the scale of impact of drooling was also applied which are a series of questions that are asked to parents to see how the drooling influences the girl and her family. Favorable results of this treatment have been seen, since at the time of evaluating the girl again the results could be seen, which were that the girl drools less since the first evaluation was applied. In conclusion in this case analysis, favorable results of the bandage were seen to control drooling.
