Abstract

This research investigates the adoption of electric vehicles in Ecuador, emphasizing the impact of governmental tariff and tax exemptions as catalysts for adoption. The study comprehensively analyzes the market dynamics, including the diversity o f available vehicle models and annual import trends since the implementation of these policies. Key factors influencing adoption rates are explored, such as charging infrastructure, economic conditions, and public perception. The findings underscore the si gnificant growth in electric vehicl e imports under the tariff exemption policies, albeit with challenges like limited charging infrastructure and high initial costs. The study aims to provide a holistic understanding of Ecuador's electric vehicle landscape, offering insights crucial for formulating effective strategies to foster sustainable and efficient vehicular transition in the country.
