Intervención de Enfermería en la Administración de Medicamentos en el Área de Pediatría.

Abstract

This research on medication administration in pediatrics focuses on optimizing nursing intervention to improve the safety and quality of childcare. The methodology used includes an exhaustive documentary analysis and a mixed approach that combines analytical-synthetic and inductive-deductive methods. The general objective is to determine the importance of improving nursing intervention in this area, while the specific objectives seek to conceptualize the theoretical and methodological aspects, evaluate the current situation, and develop an educational manual. The results highlight that medication administration in pediatrics presents significant challenges, including a high incidence of errors and the need for standardized protocols and ongoing training. Deficiencies in the knowledge and practices of nursing staff were identified, as well as the importance of using information and communication technologies to improve accuracy. The proposal includes the development of an educational manual based on the needs detected, in order to standardize practices and improve staff training, which is expected to optimize patient safety and treatment quality. The implementation of these changes will contribute to safer and more effective care for the pediatric population.
