dc.description.abstractSustainable development is a relevant issue, involving all social, economic, and environmental sectors, in which companies in Latin America face great challenges; especially, if the challenges posed in the 2030 Agenda are considered. Hypermarket networks carry out permanent actions to reduce the impact of their activities on the environment and society, gradually moving towards sustainable development. In this context, researching food retailers in general is of interest to advance knowledge regarding sustainability. This research project aims to determine if the factors of sustainable development influence the value perceived by consumers of hypermarkets in the city of Manta. The methodology applied was of correlational scope with a non-experimental and transversal design, the data were collected through a questionnaire to a sample of 240 customers of the different supermarket chains in the city of Manta, applying the Likert scale. The results show. that the factors of sustainable development do influence the perceived value that customers have towards the hypermarkets of the city. The present research project analyzes that, for the most part, the population showed a positive perception of the perceived value, but some factors for improvement were also presented, to which strategies were proposed, for the improvement of these dimensions.es
