Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze and optimize inventory management in the company under study in order to improve profitability and operational efficiency. First, a theoretical framework is designed to support the study variables, addressing key concepts related to inventory management, accuracy in records and the influence on profit margins. Through this theoretical support, fundamental practices and tools are identified that allow for proper inventory management. Subsequently, a diagnosis ofthe current situation ofthe organization is made, which reveals critical problems such as lack of accuracy in records, manual handling of information and the lack of periodic controls to compare physical inventory with system records. These deficiencies affect inventory turnover, generate losses due to obsolescence and negatively impact profitability. As a result of the diagnosis, a comprehensive strategy is proposed that includes the implementation of technological systems for the automation of records, the implementation of progressive controls between physical inventory and the system, as well as training programs aimed at warehouse personnel. These measures seek not only to optimize inventory control, but also to reduce costs associated with obsolete or slow-moving products. The application of these strategies will allow the company to improve the accuracy of its records, guarantee the availability of information in real time and contribute positively to the profit margin, thus strengthening its competitive position in the market.
