dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this research is to analyze the impact of staff recruitment on the job performance of the "Centro del descuento" commissary in Montecristi. This study focused on identifying areas for improvement based on its staff attraction and selection practices. The methodology was descriptive-correlational, non-experimental cross-sectional design, with a quantitative and qualitative approach. For this study, the population and sample were all the staff of the commercial company. The information was collected through a survey directed to the collaborators, which were measured on a Likert scale, and an interview directed to the manager. The results obtained show that a well-executed recruitment has a high correlation (Rho = 0.889) with effective job performance. Likewise, planning and forecasting (Rho = 0.757) and the initial interview (Rho = 0.813) also showed a strong relationship with performance. However, the identification of viable candidates showed a lower correlation (Rho=0.686), suggesting the need to improve assessment methods. In addition, the lack of a structured process in recruitment, such as the use of verbal recommendations and superficial review of applications, limits the quality of the selected candidates, affecting team cohesion and productivity. The research concludes that the company should adopt a more strategic approach in its selection process, including a more rigorous assessment of technical and social skills, which would improve performance, staff retention and organizational competitiveness.es
