Valoración económica del paisaje en el cerro Montecristi, Manabí- Ecuador.

Abstract

To obtain the total economic value of the landscape of Montecristi Hill, located in the province of Manabí-Ecuador, the contingent valuation method was used, which estimates the value of existence based on the preferences declared by the population between tourists and community members, and the utility functions that are not tangible or perceptible, but exist and are those who generate the natural capital. The study hypothesis is verified, with the economic value being $43 willing to pay annually in a hypothetical market to improve the ecosystem services and natural and environmental goods currently generated by Montecristi Hill. The concern of the communities of El Chorrillo, Toalla Grande and Toalla Chica is the use of land that is being given to the ecological landscape that threatens the quantity and quality of goods and services. And it is established that the collection system of this DAP economic value is by direct billing in a new rate or tariff created through public policy by local authorities representing the State at the National level. This is for the conservation of Montecristi Hill, whose VET is 21,590,100 according to the estimate of tourists and inhabitants.
