Abstract

The present research aims to develop an augmented reality application as a pedagogical tool to improve the learning process for students with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in the area of Natural Sciences of the Unified General Baccalaureate (BGU) at the Réplica Manta Educational Unit. The use of Merge Cube is proposed, a low-cost device that allows projecting virtual objects in three dimensions, as a means to capture the attention of students with ADHD and reinforce curricular content in an interactive and dynamic way. The study addresses the importance of implementing innovative methodologies that adapt to the special educational needs of this student group, taking advantage of technological advances in the field of augmented reality. The phases of the project are described, from the analysis of requirements to the development and validation of the proposed tool. Finally, the results obtained are evaluated in terms of improving academic performance, motivation, and participation of students with ADHD, highlighting the advantages and challenges encountered in the application of this emerging technology in the educational field.
