Abstract

The project "Internet System Using CMS for Internal Communication in the Electromechanical Engineering Program at Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí Extensión El Carmen" aims to address specific issues related to internal communication within the Electromechanical Engineering program. The dispersion of information and lack of adequate administrative structures have led to delays in academic performance and difficulties in accessing resources and information. The creation of the intranet system seeks to improve the quality and efficiency of education in this area by promoting cooperation between students and professors. The theoretical framework analyzes the evolution of intranets and their relevance to internal communication within organizations. Previous studies have demonstrated the benefits of intranet sites for organizational and effective communication among company members. Additionally, a development process based on the waterfall methodology is presented, which includes phases of design, specification, and intensive testing to ensure the correct functioning of the system. This structured methodology allows for an orderly and sequential implementation, though it required human, technological, and economic resources for execution. Furthermore, technical resources such as servers and software licenses must be allocated to the intranet infrastructure. From an economic perspective, the budget for implementation and long-term maintenance must be considered. In conclusion, the intranet can impact internal communications by reducing paper usage and promoting sustainable practices. Its success contributes to the advancement of knowledge and management of the Electromechanical Engineering program at Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí, Extensión El Carmen.
