Abstract

This research project addresses the topic "The Role of the Social Worker in the Context of Human Mobility in the Jubasca Foundation of Manta Canton, Year 2025." The significant migration flow to the city has generated a significant percentage of migrants in vulnerable conditions. This situation compels social workers to respond to the needs of this population. This research is qualitative in nature, utilizing methodologies such as the ecological model, focusing not only on the individual but also on their environment and interactions. This methodology allowed us to utilize tools such as the interview, which provided detailed information through direct interaction with the professional. To this end, the foundation's social worker, two other professionals working in the same field, and migrants were interviewed. Through the application of the interview, we were able to understand the main functions of the social worker in this area, delving into their methodologies, approaches, limitations, and programs. The role of the professional is key to generating a space of trust and guidance, facilitating the migrant's integration and adaptation process, fulfilling the role of manager of available resources. It is concluded that social work goes beyond the technical assistance that can be provided, but also offers emotional support and emotional response.
