Abstract

This study examines the role of the social worker and its impact on the adaptation processes of families migrating to Manta, in a context where human displacement has gained great importance due to the increasing number of people arriving from different countries. In this regard, the research arises from the need to understand how social intervention strategies affect the inclusion, rights, and stability of this vulnerable population. To carry out this analysis, a qualitative approach is used, based on semi-structured interviews conducted with five social workers and five migrants, which allowed for the exploration of experiences, perceptions, and realities from both perspectives. The general objective is to identify how the Social Work professional intervenes in the adaptation process of migrant families, as well as the effects of their actions within this process. Furthermore, the analysis was developed using the thematic analysis method, supported by theories related to Social Work, migration, and family dynamics. As a main conclusion, it was found that the social worker plays a crucial role in social integration and in strengthening the autonomy of migrant families, although they face various structural and institutional limitations.
