The project titled "Social Insecurity and Its Incidence on the Family Economy of the 20 de Mayo Sector of Manta Canton, 2024-2025," whose general objective is to analyze how social insecurity affects the family economy in this community. The central problem lies in that social insecurity, characterized by crime, poverty, and inequality, has generated a negative impact on the quality of life of families, limiting their employment opportunities, increasing their security expenses, and weakening social cohesion. The research used a quantitative approach, with a non-experimental and cross-sectional design. Surveys and participant observation were applied to a sample of 212 families, selected from a total population of 470 households. These tools allowed collecting data on perceptions of insecurity, its causes and consequences, as well as the factors that influence the family economy. The results showed that poverty, unemployment, and corruption are the main causes of social insecurity. The most notable consequences include economic impact, family disintegration, and the increase of crime. Also, it was identified that debts, expenses, and income are the factors that most affect the family economy. Social insecurity also limits daily activities and encourages migration. In conclusion, this problem perpetuates a cycle of poverty and vulnerability, affecting families comprehensively. The evidence shows that the problem of social insecurity in this community has a profound impact on different aspects of the lives of its inhabitants.es
