Abstract

This case study was developed to investigate the quality of information on one of the platforms used for decision-making at the Dr. Oswaldo Loor Moreira Foundation, located in the Portoviejo canton. The main objective is to strengthen the quality of this information so that more effective decisions can be made. This study was conducted using a mixed methodology, utilizing qualitative and quantitative methods. Through an observation guide surveys, and interviews with internal and external users, relevant data were collected to identify limitations regarding information quality. The results reveal the absence of a department solely responsable for the management and supervision of the digital platform, as well as a lack of ongoing staff training. These weaknesses directly and negatively impact the quality of the content available to the Foundation’s users. It is concluded that there is a need to implement a Communications Department responsible for supervising, maintaining, and updating the platform. Likewise, it is proposed to implement various ongoing training programs for staff to improve their digital competencias and data management skills, which Will contribute to increasing the quality of information and improving decision-making processes within the Dr. Oswaldo Loor Moreira Foundation.
