Abstract

This research refers to a series of circumstances such as natural disasters, economic problems, migrations that have occurred in the city of Bahía de Caráquez, which has been affected in a very considerable way, and this area of study is currently perceived as a ghost town; This has caused the commercial activity in the city center to decline in a high percentage and its population migrate to other places where there are better opportunities to have a better quality of life. Under these terms, the objective of this research is to describe from an urban perspective, identifying the causes that led to this abandonment.
