Sellado dentinario inmediato en restauraciones indirectas: revisión bibliográfica.

Abstract

When the dental structure has lost its integrity, it is necessary to proceed to restore the piece so that it recovers its aesthetic appearance and fulfills its occlusal and masticatory function. One of the types of restorations that can be used are the so-called indirect restorations. These can be crowns, onlays and inlays and its characteristic factor is that it requires laboratory procedures to make the restoration. Faced with different problems that may arise, the immediate dentin sealing technique was proposed after tooth preparation and before taking the impression. The objective of the research was to analyze the immediate dentin sealing technique in indirect restorations. A review of the literature was carried out and five studies were included for the synthesis, two clinical trials and three systematic reviews. Immediate dentin sealing is indicated in indirect restorations to avoid unnecessary loss of remaining dental tissue when cementing and debonding provisional restorations (crowns, veneers). Its main advantages are considered to be patient comfort, as patients experience increased comfort during provisionalization, limited use of anesthesia during final insertion of restorations, and reduced postoperative sensitivity. And of course, the maximum conservation of the dental structure.
