Abstract

An investigation was established in a farm located on the Santo Domingo Chone road at km 38 at the geographical coordinates 0°13'57.0''S 79°30'50.00''W, with the objective of evaluating the influence of root growth promoters in established Musa AAB plantain cultivars in the definitive site in El Carmen, Manabí; A divided plot design was proposed, in the large plots the plantain varieties were located, while in the small plots or subplots the doses of cytokinins were distributed, the data was taken on the emission of leaves 20, 30, acorns and harvest, as well as the ages of the crop, the agronomic and productive parameters of the plants and the content of macro and micronutrients in the roots were evaluated. The results presented in the doses of cytokinin in the cultivation of the Barraganete and Dominico Hartón plantains did not influence the agronomic variables of the roots, as soon as the age of the crop, the weight of the roots ascended until the acorn and was maintained until harvest. and for the thickness and length the growth was of low development; in the foliar area the Dominican Hartón on leaf 20 presented the highest response in medium, low and control doses of cytokinin with 1.04 cm2 on average, in the productive parameter the Dominican Hartón with 1.25 and 2.00 cm3 of cytokinin values of 392.84 and 403.98 g were obtained in the weight of exportable fingers.
