Agentes hemostáticos empleados en el manejo de accidentes vasculares.

Abstract

Hemostatic agents are mechanisms that can be defined by their purpose of promoting hemostasis and accelerating the entire coagulation process. These hemostatic agents can be systemic and local, both with the same objective, the only difference will be their form of application or entry into the hemostatic system of the human being. Hemostasis as such is a physiological process that manages to stop bleeding thanks to the interaction it has with the inflammation mechanism and tissue repair responses that help prevent bleeding from occurring. If the responses of the coagulation system are negative; It is when complications arise, therefore the objective of this research is to define what hemostasis is and its role in coagulation; in order to establish which hemostatic agents are used in vascular accidents within the dental area. This research was achieved through the bibliographic method since the most up-to-date and consistent information regarding the research topic was consulted in several articles and internet pages, thus completing the theoretical framework. The descriptive method was also used since it will be disclosed in detail how the coagulation system is and the participation of primary and secondary hemostasis in said system; with the analytical method it was possible to work to know the different drugs used as hemostatic agents for the control of both primary and secondary hemostasis and finally the documentary method since this research has been written with the purpose of contributing to updated knowledge, focusing on the study areas of interest that surround the control of hemostasis in a dental management procedure such as dental extraction. The purpose of this research is to help the dentist of the new era to manage and choose the right agent at the right time, below I present a detailed bibliographical compilation of hemostatic agents used in the management of vascular accidents.
