Evaluación de mezclas de sustratos para germinación de especies de importancia agropecuaria en el vivero de la Finca Tigrillo de la Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí.

Abstract

The objective of the research was to elaborate different mixtures of substrates for the germination of seedlings of the production in the nursery of the Finca Tigrillo of the Laica Eloy Alfaro University of Manabí. Theoretical, explorative, descriptive, explanatory methodology was used, in addition the experimental method was established, where the materials and the quantities in the elaboration of the substrate or organic fertilizer. The same that is a solid and inert medium, which protects and supports the plant for root development in vegetables, allowing the nutrient solution to be available for its development. Providing as results in the tomato crop, it was observed that there are no statistical differences (p>0.05) in any of the variables under study. In the same way, in the radish crop, the number of leaves per plant was the same for all treatments, being 4 leaves/plant and the width of the leaf/plant. Likewise, in the pepper and cucumber crops, the number of leaves per plant was homogeneous with 2 leaves/plant. In this way, the use of a substrate such as peat or agro-industrial waste was proposed, allowing an alternative use and thus not wasting this residue.
