Abstract

The current proposal aims to address the need for improving access to academic information in the Secretariat General of Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí. This will be achieved through the implementation of integrated information systems and enhancements in communication and information dissemination. Specific objectives include analyzing the current dynamics of academic information access, defining advanced digital tools for the integrated information system, and designing the system to enhance information management. The identified problem is related to external manifestations such as a lack of strategic planning for information articulation, difficulties in accessing information, issues in information management, and disinterest in integrated information systems, resulting in low levels of productivity and competitiveness. To tackle this issue, a methodology has been proposed involving theoretical methods, analysis-synthesis, document-bibliographic analysis, and the inductive-deductive method. Additionally, techniques such as direct observation, surveys, and interviews have been selected to gain an in-depth understanding of the current situation in the Secretariat General. These techniques will provide valuable insights into the needs and challenges related to academic information access and will serve as a foundation for designing effective solutions.
