Diagnóstico y propuesta de microcentralidades de soporte en la parroquia Tarqui del cantón Manta.

Abstract

Since 2016, Tarqui district underwent socioeconomic and urban transitions which affect their interconnections with the rest of the canton (on human settlements, economic-productive, socials, and in mobility) and took it away from the vision of the city, thus driving the proliferation of difficulties of various nature on the district. Therefore, the investigation focuses on making an urban-architectonic design that turns out in a replicable model of polycentric territorial development for Manta, which begins in the Tarqui district and mitigates the problems of this part of the territory. For this, it was necessary to include a versatile methodology where the documental analysis and the bibliographic review are involved, data gathering techniques such as the interview, made to professionals with expertise in city planning, participatory workshops with Tarqui's neighborhood leaders and surveys carried out on the population that operates within the district and outside it. After that, a diagnosis was made, and the main result was a strategic project list that strengthen to Tarqui district from four interconnected urban micro-centralities. To conclude, the influence of polycentric territorial development in a city like Manta is corroborated, this is how the interconnection of the district occurs from specific urban strategies (replicable model) that consolidate Tarqui's s role in the vision of the cantonal territory.
