Abstract

The "design of a temporary shelter for pets for the city of Manta with ecological characteristics". It was proposed with the intention of solving the problem of the proliferation of pets in the streets of the city, which generates unhealthy, health hazards, danger to pedestrians, bad image to the city, overpopulation of these animals without any control. This project is developed in an area of approximately 6,000m2 in the San Juan sector of the Manta parish, which seeks to reduce the presence of urban fauna in the streets of the city. As a result, obtained through the present data and information collection, it is remarkable the need of the city of a shelter for pets in street situation, since day by day it is evident the uncontrollable growth of the feline and canine population in the streets without any control, even worse without an adequate space to rescue them from the streets and give them the corresponding treatment as the case may be. The purpose of the proposal is to rescue them on a temporary basis, since it seeks to give these animals a second chance by finding them a stable home, promoting adoption, care and responsibility that represents having a pet that becomes part of the family circle. In addition to the implementation of ecological materials, the use of factors such as natural light, natural ventilation, and providing a public space for pets for their free recreation.
