Evaluación de la respuesta productiva de vacas mestizas, alimentadas con pasto tanzania (panicum maximun cv. tanzania) y suplementadas con caña forrajera (saccharum officinarum) en el trópico húmedo.

Abstract

The purpose of this experimental research was to evaluate the productive response of mestizo cows, fed with Tanzania grass (Panicum maximun cv. Tanzania) and supplemented with forage cane (Saccharum officinarum) in the humid tropics. A 3 x 3 Latin Square was used as an experimental design, with three levels of supplementation with forage cane and three cut ages of Tanzania grass. Milk production and consumption of green matter and dry matter were evaluated. It was obtained that the production of milk in mestizo cows increased with the increase in the levels of supplementation with forage cane, the same response was not presented for the three ages of Tanzania grass. The acceptability of the supplement by the crossbred cows was manifested in the increase in the consumption of green matter and dry matter, there was no similar response with the different cut ages of the Tanzania grass.
