Rentabilidad en el cultivo de plátano barraganete por la práctica de “vampireo” en época lluviosa.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to analyze the profitability of barraganete plantain due to the practice of vamping in the rainy season in the cultivation of plantain at the Río Suma experimental farm belonging to the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí; for this, two treatments were evaluated: T1 (Vampire Method) and T2 (Control) arranged in 5000 m2 each, established in a plantation at four years of age. An independent samples t test is established to measure the number of fingers and hands per bunch, bunch weight, yield and economic analysis. The results show that the application of the vamp improved the productive variables of the banana crop with 28,22 fingers per bunch, a bunch weight of 9.77 kg and a yield of 2519.98 kilos per hectare. The best Benefit & Cost ratio was found in T1 (With vampire) with 1,13, which implies that, for every dollar invested, a profit of 0.13 dollars was obtained; finally, the profitability of the plantain crop in T1 (with vampire) was 13,33%.
