Comportamiento productivo del pasto clon 51 (pennisetum sp.) a tres edades de corte.

Abstract

The objective of this experimentation investigation was to evaluate the effect of the cutting age of Clone 51 grass (Pennisetum sp) on biomass production, in the Agrodimeza farms, located at Km 29 of the road to Santo Domingo - Chone, located in the El Carmen parish of the El Carmen canton to the North of the province of Manabí. A completely randomized block experimental design (DBCA) was used. The trial consisted of three treatments with 7 repetitions, the treatments were the cut-off age at 50, 60 and 70 days. The green matter production of Clone 51 grass presented the highest record at the cutting age of 70 days with 102, 36 t ha -1, between the cutting age of 50 and 60 days there were no differences.Dry matter production had its highest expression at 70 days with 16.09 t ha, with significant differences compared to the other two cutting ages. The content of dry matter, in correlation with the production, it was obtained that at 70 days of cutting, more dry matter was accumulated than in the previous cutting ages. -1
