Abstract

The present investigation was carried out on the premises of the Eloy Alfaro Lay University of Manabí, El Carmen extension, in the Río Suma experimental farm, located at 249 meters above sea level, with a humid tropical climate, an average temperature of 24.5 ºC and an annual rainfall of 2800mm The purpose of the research is based on determining the effect of the addition of organic acidifiers (formic, propionic and acetic) in the diet on the productive parameters in chickens in the rearing stage (1 to 10 days). Using a completely randomized block design (DBCA) with four treatments and five repetitions, the collected data were obtained and verified by means of the Tukey test at 5% probability, using the INFOSTAT statistical software, in order to demonstrate the weight gain and feed conversion of Cobb chickens during the 10 days of the investigation in addition to evaluating the profitability of the project. The organic acidifiers used for chicken weight gain were statistically similar in the four treatments, where there was no statistical significance. Therefore, it was possible to conclude that the use of organic acidifiers does not influence the growth and weight gain of the chicken. In addition, an economic analysis was developed in terms of cost-benefit that determines that the research carried out is not profitable in the short term.
