Abstract

The objective of this work was to evaluate productive parameters in the laying phase of Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica), using ground flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum). Five treatments T1 (2.5%), T2 (5%), T3 (7.5%) and flaxseed emerged, with four repetitions, with a randomized block design. It was established that if there was influence of flaxseed (L. usitatissimum) on the following productive parameters: number of eggs per day (4,22), laying percentage (42,14) and egg mass (4,32 g), only in the first week of laying quail eggs. It was defined if there was influence of flaxseed (L. usitatissimum) on the quality parameter (diameter of quail egg), being T4 (10% flaxseed) the one with the highest value with 30.48 mm. It will be concluded that all the treatments had a Cost & Benefit ratio of less than 1, which implies that they had economic losses.
