Efecto de altas densidades sobre el rendimiento y rentabilidad del cultivo de plátano de exportación (Musa AAB).

Abstract

The optimum planting density for export plantain (Musa AAB) was determined in the Nuevo Israel site, Santo Domingo de los Tsáchilas Province, Ecuador. The treatments (planting distance: D1 = 1 m x 4 m and D2 = 1.25 m x 4 m) were evaluated in a Student's T test. The height of the plant, the pseudostem stem, the leaves at appearance, the leaves to harvest, the ratio, the hands per bunch, the weight of the box type, the weight of the bunch, the number of fingers in the second hand, the length of the second hand finger, the B/C ratio, the profitability and the net profit. The best density was 2000 plants/hectare, which obtained better results in the agronomic variables that were evaluated. Regarding the economic variables for yield and profitability, the best density was also that of 2000 plants/hectare, since a B/C ratio of $2.49 dollars was obtained for each dollar invested, with a profitability rate of 149% and a net profit of $38.75.
