Abstract

This research aims to analyze the current situation of the Bahía boardwalk of Caráquez adjacent to the Bellavista neighborhood in the city of Bahía de Caráquez, whose results They will serve as a basis for proposing alternative regeneration proposals. urban. It comprises a progressive development of different stages that begins from the collection of historical site data, cartographic review and bibliographic information to basis of urban theories of public space, regeneration, placemaking and urban resilience that allowed us to obtain the bases to establish a proposal as an alternative solution to minimize the problems detected, which can improve the deterioration of the boardwalk such as public space. The work starts from a general description of the topic and the study problem, heading towards a theoretical, spatial and temporal delimitation. Subsequently conducted surveys of the community in general and interviews with municipal authorities, In turn, field trips were made to know for sure the current situation in the that the inhabitants of Bahía de Caráquez live, after which the framework was developed theoretical basis that supports the macro plan to solve the deterioration of the infrastructure of the boardwalk and finally through sketches the decision was made on the model of the proposal urban and architectural. The present study took a random non-stratified probabilistic sample in the study unit (N =375) whose results served to achieve the objectives of the research, it was determined that the knowledge demonstrated by the direct informants involved argue that poor urban planning is the main reason for the deterioration of the boardwalk as a public space.
