La Violencia de Género en Mujeres en Situación de Vulnerabilidad Social en el Cantón Manta, año 2024.

Abstract

The research on gender-based violence among women in vulnerable situations in the canton of Manta reveals a high prevalence of this issue, influenced by cultural factors, social norms, gender inequality, and economic problems. The main objective of the study was to assess the impact of gender-based violence on these women, using a mixed-methods approach that combined correlational and descriptive designs with deductive and inductive approaches. This integrated methodology allowed for capturing both the relationships between variables and the specific characteristics of the phenomenon. Data collection was carried out through a 15-question survey administered to a sample of 225 individuals, providing essential quantitative information for analyzing the impact and prevalence of violence. Additionally, an interview with a social worker was conducted to gain a detailed qualitative perspective, enriching the understanding of the context and the dynamics involved. This combination of quantitative and qualitative techniques ensures a comprehensive evaluation of the problem, facilitating the development of more effective strategies to address gender-based violence in the region. The research highlights the need to implement integrated strategies that address cultural, social, and economic factors collectively to reduce gender-based violence and promote equality and social development in Manta.
