Condiciones Habitacionales y Consumo de Drogas en Estudiantes de la Uleam, Año 2024.

Abstract

The present research project addresses the “Living Conditions and Drug Use among Uleam Students, Year 2024”. Drug use affects various groups of the population; however, the presence of different risk factors increases the probability of drug use. In this context, students, due to the particular realities they face, could be more susceptible to this problem. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze the housing conditions and their impact on drug use among Uleam students, as well as to identify the sociodemographic factors of the study population, describe the housing conditions of students, determine the incidence of drug use, and establish the relationship between these two variables. The methods used were exploratory, descriptive, and correlational, with a quantitative approach. The sample consisted of 359 students from the Faculty of Social Sciences, Law and Welfare, and Administrative Sciences, Accounting and Commerce. To conduct the research process and data collection, a structured survey was applied, using the questionnaire as the main instrument. The results allowed concluding that there is a relationship between the variables studied, showing that the deficit in the housing conditions of the students generates greater vulnerability to the recurrence of substance use, together with the influence of other factors. In addition, the occasional consumption of alcohol, tobacco and marijuana was identified, as a form of fun and experimentation, among other causes.
