Abstract

International trade is essential for economic development, Ecuador, with its agricultural diversity, seeks to expand its exports through strategic agreements, such as with China. This study analyzes the impact of the trade agreement between Ecuador and China on the exports of pitahaya, a tropical fruit prized for its flavor and nutritional benefits. Trade data and export trends are examined, identifying challenges and opportunities, such as competitiveness and demand in China. International regulations and GPA improve product quality and sustainability. China, as the main importer, favors the Ecuadorian trade balance and its growth economic. The study also details the botanical characteristics of the red pitahaya, its cycle of production and the importance of GAP. The Ecuadorian customs system (Ecuapass) and the Trade agreements facilitate trade, reducing barriers and supporting exports.
