Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic had a profound impact on foreign trade between Ecuador and Colombia, exposing vulnerabilities in supply chains and altering commercial dynamics. In 2020, bilateral trade fell by 25%, especially affecting the industrial and service sectors. However, the agricultural sector showed remarkable resilience. The crisis highlighted the importance of adopting digital technologies, such as ecommerce platforms, which enabled companies to adapt and maintain operations. Additionally, cooperation between the two countries, through green corridors, facilitated the transit of essential goods, demonstrating the effectiveness of international collaboration. This analysis underscores the need to diversify markets and supply sources, invest in technology, and strengthen the resilience of supply chains to ensure the sustainability of foreign trade in the face of future crises.
