La innovación tecnológica y su impacto en el desarrollo económico de las Mi Pymes del Barrio Jocay de Manta.

Abstract

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (Mi Pymes) emerge for various motivations or reasons from an individual or a group of people, each with their own objectives to achieve. However, on the transaction curve, from their creation to their current stage, many Mi Pymes fail to transcend successfully. There are multiple variables that can cause this situation. Given the above, this research project focuses on the Mi Pymes of the Jocay neighborhood in the city of Manta and their lack of application in innovative technologies. This issue faced by the microenterprises in the area is the object of study of the project, aiming to identify the factors that cause this situation through non-experimental correlational research with a qualitative approach. Through a structured questionnaire, 306 Mi Pymes were surveyed to determine the impact of technological innovation on the economic development of the microenterprises in the Jocay neighborhood of Manta. 66.7% of the respondents fully agreed with the implementation of technological innovation, while only 2.0% expressed disagreement. Regarding economic development, 69% expressed total agreement. These results demonstrate that the adoption of new technologies strengthens the economic growth of companies and allows them to remain competitive. In conclusion, the microenterprises in Jocay recognize the benefits of innovation and are willing to implement it to boost their long-term economic development.
