This study addresses the influence of burnout syndrome on the performance of teachers in the Business Administration program at the Universidad Laica Eloy Alfaro de Manabí (ULEAM) during the year 2023. Specific questions are posed regarding emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, and personal accomplishment of teachers, aiming to understand the relationship between these aspects and teaching performance. The main objective of the research is to determine the existing influence between burnout syndrome and the professional performance of teachers. A field investigation was conducted involving 33 teachers from the Business Administration program at ULEAM. Specific objectives include analyzing the incidence of emotional exhaustion, depersonalization, personal accomplishment, and burnout syndrome in the work performance of these teachers. Findings reveal that the majority of teachers experience low levels of emotional exhaustion (69.7%), depersonalization (75.8%), and medium levels of personal accomplishment (87.9%). Regarding burnout syndrome, most teachers exhibit levels considered as medium (81.8%), while a smaller percentage shows high levels (18.2%), and no teachers are registered with low levels of burnout. Correlation analyses between teaching performance and the mentioned variables reveal associations that, although showing trends, do not reach statistical significance. The absence of statistically significant correlations suggests the possible influence of other factors not considered in the analyses of this research.es
