Resumen : According to the World Health Organization (WHO), urinary tract infection during pregnancy is an infectious process that results from the invasion and development of bacteria in the urinary tract which can have maternal and fetal repercussions. Urinary infections in the perinatal period represent about a tenth of maternal deaths in the world. In addition, maternal infections before or during childbirth are estimated to cause one million newborn deaths. (WHO, 2017) At the same time, urinary tract infection (UTI) is one of the most common pathologies. in pregnant women, it may be related to premature birth, in some cases can be prevented by its symptoms and by its special characteristics, in which E. coli with a high percentage of incidents, is the main bacteria that causes this to occur. pathology. According to (MSP, 2020), the Ministry of Public Health (MSP) mentions that women Pregnant women easily develop urinary tract infections (UTI) due to changes functional, hormonal and anatomical, in addition to the location of the exposed urethral meatus to uropathogenic and vaginal bacteria that access the urinary tract. In the words of (MSD Manual, 2021)During pregnancy, urinary tract infections are due to a physiological urinary obstruction resulting from hormonal urethral dilation and compression of the growing uterus against the ureters. Therefore, when the emptying urinary flow of the bladder is slow, the bacteria are not eliminated from the total, increasing the probability of infection.
Descripción : Según la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS), la infección urinaria en el embarazo es un proceso infeccioso que resulta de la invasión y desarrollo de bacterias en el tracto urinario que pueden traer consigo repercusiones maternas y fetales. Las infecciones urinarias en el período perinatal representan cerca de una décima parte de las muertes maternas en el mundo.
