dc.description.abstractThe United Nations (UN), the Organization of American States (OAS) and the European Union (EU) have highlighted the severe discrimination and violence faced by people based on their gender identity worldwide. In this context, in the canton of Manta, the right to gender identity in children and adolescents emerges as an issue marked by challenges and advances in the protection and recognition of this vulnerable population. Therefore, the objective of this project is to analyze how gender discrimination affects children, adolescents and adolescents gender condition affects children and adolescents in the canton of Manta, Ecuador, 2022. Manta, Ecuador, 2022. With a descriptive-quantitative methodological design, a convenience sample of 20 people was determined as representatives of children and adolescents. The results of the survey in Manta canton show a clear division in the perception of the acceptance of gender identity diversity: 50% of the respondents perceive resistance and lack of acceptance in society, while 35% recognize positive advances. While most value gender identity education in children's development (65%), 25% still place little or no importance on it. Most feel prepared to address conversations about gender identity with their children (80%), but more than half perceive insufficient support in schools for gender identity expression (55%). In conclusion, the need for inclusive educational policies and awareness-raising to create safer and more welcoming envi ronments in the canton of Manta is highlighted.es
