The research work entitled: “Family diversity and its influence on the social development of children in the community of La Sequita in the Montecristi canton, year 2024”, analyzes how family diversity impacts the social development of children in that community, recognizing that family diversity can present challenges for children, particularly in terms of identity and belonging, which can generate difficulties about their origin and their place in the world. Family diversity and its influence on the social development of children in the community of La Sequita presents a variety of family structures, with nuclear households predominating, but also with a notable presence of extended and single-parent families. These family models are influenced by economic, cultural, personal and religious factors. Despite difficulties, such as the absence of one of the parents or economic problems, the family remains an essential pillar of emotional and social support. Changes in family models reflect social and technological transformations, such as the advancement of technology, which facilitates new forms of connection, but also generates physical distancing due to factors such as work or migration. Despite barriers such as lack of time, resources and information, most families are committed to the educational and social development of their children. Extended families, such as grandparents and uncles, play an active role in the educational process, which benefits children's development.es
