Abstract

The present research project whose topic stands out as “The perception of gender violence and the emotional development of the families of the General Eloy Alfaro parish of Montecristi 2024” Its purpose is to analyze the perception of gender violence and its impact on the emotional development of families in the parish, within the problem, gender violence is a serious social problem that extends within the community, which negatively affects the emotional development of families. The proposed methodology was a qualitative approach with a deductive scope, information collection techniques were applied, applying observation instruments, the questionnaire and in-depth interviews with key informants, the results show that gender violence is a serious problem, and spread in the parish, which negatively affects the emotional development of families, victims of gender violence experience feelings of fear, guilt, shame, anxiety and depression and have difficulties developing healthy relationships. In conclusion, the perception of gender violence is a problem that affects all families in the General Eloy Alfaro de Montecristi parish, which requires an effective and coordinated response from institutions and the community in general. It is essential to provide emotional and practical to victims of gender violence and promote a culture of peace and respect, generating non-violence within homes.
